March 1, 2013
Acorn International's Mary Beth Snodgrass is scheduled to speak at an SPE Conference in Galveston on March 19.
The SPE Americas 2013 E&P Health / Safety / Security / Environmental Conference will be held at the Galveston Island Convention Center from March 18-20, and focuses on HSSE issues as they pertain to the oil and gas industry.
Ms. Snodgrass will be participating in the session entitled Understanding and Meeting Social Performance Expectations, taking place on Tuesday, March 19, from 1:45-3:15. The session summary is as follows:
"Industry stakeholders from governments to financial institutions to communities have growing expectations for how oil and gas companies address socio-economic issues in areas impacted by company projects and operations. Some of these expectations have developed into institutional standards, while others are simply a part of the stakeholder dialogue, but all can affect how the industry operates. This session will explore social performance expectations on the part of various stakeholders and what companies are doing internally and externally to address those expectations."
Ms. Snodgrass will speak on the topic of Integrating Social Performance Management: A Comparison With HSE Performance Management.
