Alexis Peterson - Consultant

Ms. Peterson is a consultant with experience in social and environmental research and project management for international development projects. Areas of specialization include due diligence and performance standard review. Ms. Peterson holds a Master of Urban Planning degree from Harvard University and a double BA (Sociology, Urban Studies) from Stanford University. She is fluent in French and conversationally fluent in Spanish.

Acorn International – Consultant, Houston, TX, (April 2014 – Present)
Ms. Peterson joins a highly accomplished team of environmental and social risk management consultants for Acorn International. Some of her work includes:

  • AMR Certification for offshore drilling activities in Ghana for an international oil company
  • Evaluation of international extraction projects as per IFC Performance Standards, General EHS Guidelines, and Industry Sector Guidelines
  • Proposal development including stakeholder engagement relative to environmental concerns
  • Support in developing a due diligence tool and procedure for acquisitions and divestitures for a multinational

Created – Consultant (Freelance), Boston, Massachusetts and Paris, France (September 2006 – January 2014)

  • Boutique education-centric consultancy firm serving a wide variety of international clients
  • Extensive data analysis, statistical projection, and literature review projects
  • Authored both high-level and detailed reports and developed a suite of proprietary materials

  • Final product was a detailed analysis of and projection for the entire watershed, focusing on hydrology, history, ecology, and urban development
  • Project was published as a book, and won awards at a University as well as at a national level (2008 Honor Award in Analysis and Planning, American Society of Landscape Architects).
